No, this rate only applies to your Online Savings Account(s). If you have multiple Online Savings Accounts, the same rate will apply to all savings accounts, regardless of when those deposits were made to your account.

The interest rate is variable based on the Bank’s discretion. The rate will change based on the current market conditions.

In accordance with Federal Regulation DD, all banks are required to calculate Annual Percentage Yields for two purposes.

  • In general, the annual percentage yield for advertising is an annualized rate that reflects the relationship between the amount of interest that would be earned by the consumer for the term of the account and the amount of principal used to calculate that interest. This allows consumers to make meaningful comparisons among depository institutions.
  • The annual percentage yield for periodic statements is an annualized rate that reflects the relationship between the amount of interest actually earned on the consumer's account during the statement period. This figure is influenced by accrued but uncredited interest and rounding.

An Online Savings Account is a high yield savings account with 24-hour availability. The FNBO Direct Online Savings account is able to offer a high yield due to the lower costs associated with a pure online bank. Basically, we're efficient! No paper. No branches.
